Geraniums are small fragrant plants that grow about 3 feet in height. There are hundreds of different species of Geranium, but don’t confuse it with the usual potted plants that grow in brilliant reds, purples and blues.
EG's Geranium essential oil is derived from a plant in the family of Geraniums (to which this common name is applied liberally), but is in the genus Pelargonium, which has dozens of other cross bred cousins. To extract the essential oil, the leaves are put through a steam distillation process.
